Cancellation Insurance – Terms and Conditions

The insurance is a voluntary group insurance, covered by the insurance terms below. Nortic AB (Nortic), as the group representative, has entered into a group agreement with the insurer W. R. Berkley Insurance AG, Swedish Branch (org. no 516410-2070), a branch of W.R. Berkley Europe AG. Through the group agreement, all of Nortic's customers are group members and can choose to take out insurance according to these insurance terms.

1. Conditions for the insurance to be valid

The insurance must be taken out in direct connection with the booking of a ticket or event.

The person taking out the insurance (policyholder) must be at least 18 years old.

Policyholders and co-insured persons must be permanently resident within the EU at the time the insurance is taken out.

2. Who the insurance applies to

The insurance applies to the policyholder and the co-insured persons included in the booking and specified in the booking confirmation.

3. When the insurance applies

The cancellation insurance takes effect the day after the premium for the cancellation insurance has been paid. The insurance can be taken out for events starting within 12 months from the booking date.

The cancellation insurance ceases to be valid once the event starts.

4. What the insurance covers

The cancellation insurance reimburses prepaid costs for tickets/events due to an accident, acute illness, or death affecting the policyholder, any of the co-insured persons, or a close relative.

The cancellation insurance can also reimburse prepaid costs for tickets/events due to fire, flooding, or burglary at home, or a pet suffering from serious illness, which affects the policyholder or any of the co-insured persons and for this reason cannot reasonably participate in the event.

5. Exceptions and limitations

The cancellation insurance does not pay compensation:

  • If compensation can be obtained from another source according to general cancellation regulations, law, regulation, convention, guarantee, insurance, or damages.

  • for events canceled/postponed by the organizer or artist, or when an event is moved

  • in case of strike, bankruptcy, or government intervention

  • in cases of illness, ailment, or accident and the consequences thereof, or another event, which was known, announced, or had occurred before the insurance was taken out

  • in cases of illness or accident related to the use of alcohol, other intoxicants, sleeping pills, or narcotic substances

  • if the reason for the cancellation is a pandemic

  • for an event that the insured or co-insured or a close relative intentionally inflicted or incurred

  • in cases of incorrect purchase or purchase of duplicate tickets

  • in cases of separation or disagreement

  • in cases of bad weather

  • if the documents required to assess the insured's claim cannot be provided • for costs incurred in connection with booking/cancellation, such as service fees, options (e.g., the premium for this insurance), or travel expenses, or for medical visits, medical certificates, medical records, and similar

  • for season tickets or annual passes

6. Claim notification

Claims should be reported to Nortic as soon as possible, but no later than before the start of the event. Report is made via Nortic's cancellation form available on the website's Helpcenter. For questions, contact Nortic via the same Helpcenter. https://nortic.se/helpcenter

The following documents must be attached to the claim:

documentation showing cancellation costs for the arrangement

certificates confirming the date and reason for the cancellation, such as a medical certificate, police report, or similar.

The certificate issuer must have been contacted before the arrangement was supposed to start.

The decided compensation is paid to the policyholder.

7. Maximum compensation amount

The maximum compensation corresponds to the total amount for the booked event, but a maximum of 5,000 SEK per event.

8. Deductible

The insurance applies without a deductible.

9. Participation in claims adjustment

You must, to the extent possible, assist in resolving the incident as soon as possible. In particular, you must provide information and details that may be relevant to the claims adjustment. You must specifically answer the questions posed by the claims adjuster. If the insurer suffers damage due to your non-cooperation, your compensation will be reduced according to what is considered reasonable under the circumstances.

10. Incorrect information in connection with the claim

If you or anyone else requesting compensation after damage has, with intent or through gross negligence, incorrectly reported, concealed, or hidden anything of importance for assessing the right to compensation under this insurance, compensation can be reduced or completely withheld.

11. Double insurance

The insurance does not cover costs or compensation that has already been settled by another insurance company or credit card company. However, each insurance company is responsible to you as if the insurance company alone was responsible for the damage.

12. Force majeure

The cancellation insurance does not apply for cancellations in connection with nuclear processes, nuclear reactions, war, warlike events, civil war, revolution, acts of terror, epidemics, pandemics, rioting, or uprising. The insurance also does not cover cancellations resulting from government decisions.

13. Insurer

The insurer is W. R. Berkley Insurance AG, Swedish Branch (org. no 516410-2070), a branch of W.R. Berkley Europe AG.
