Gruppens medlemmar har sedan länge och på olika vis kommit i direktkontakt med och fastnat för afrikanska populärmusikstilar. Här möts de i bandets egna sound, starkt präglat av frontmannen Celso Paco, sångare, slagverkare, trummis, dansare och låtskrivare, född och uppvuxen i Moçambique - sedan många år bosatt i Sverige.
Bandet framför till stor del Celsos egna kompositioner med grund i traditionell Marrabenta och andra afrikanska popstilar.
Celso Paco är starkt påverkad av musiken och danserna från sitt hemland och tolkar både traditionella sånger och populärmusik från trakterna kring hemstaden Maputo. Han har också inspirerats av musik från grannländer som Sydafrika och Zimbabwe.
Förutom övriga afrikanska stilar har även den internationella rock- och jazzscenen gjort starkt intryck på honom.
Gruppen jobbar som ett kollektiv och skapar tillsammans sitt unika sound. Medlemmarna är väl medvetna om musikens rötter, men tvekar inte heller att ta in element från sina egna musikaliska erfarenheter. Alla är väl etablerade musiker inom genrer som folk/jazz/funk/pop/rock/reggae – och, förstås, varierande stilar från den afrikanska kontinenten.
Oavsett var musiken har sitt stilmässiga ursprung så är bandet Celso Paco & Dynamo de Luxe besjälade av den afrikanska musikens poesi, groove och energi. Lyssna, njut och dansa!

The members of the band have, over many years and through different paths, developed a deep connection with African popular music traditions. These influences come together in the band's distinctive sound, strongly shaped by frontman Celso Paco—singer, percussionist, drummer, dancer, and songwriter—who was born and raised in Mozambique and has lived in Sweden for many years.
The repertoire consists largely of Celso's original compositions, rooted in traditional Marrabenta and other African popular music styles.
Celso Paco draws profound inspiration from the music and dances of his homeland, performing both traditional songs and popular music from the region around his hometown of Maputo. He has also been influenced by the musical traditions of neighboring countries such as South Africa and Zimbabwe. Alongside these African influences, the international rock and jazz scenes have also left a strong mark on his musical expression.
The band works as a true collective, creating its unique sound together. While deeply aware of the roots of the music they play, the members are equally eager to incorporate elements from their own diverse musical backgrounds. All are highly accomplished musicians with experience spanning folk, jazz, funk, pop, rock, reggae—and, of course, a wide range of musical styles from across the African continent.
Whatever the stylistic origins of a particular song, Celso Paco & Dynamo de Luxe are united by the poetry, groove, and vibrant energy of African music. Listen, enjoy—and dance!
