If Lee Hazelwood made a record with Nick Cave and they hired Ennio Morricone to do the arrangements it might sound a bit like Federale. Dark, narrative driven songs with a flair for the cinematic collide with stylistic touchstones of the past. Song arrangements genre jump between 80’s gothic landscapes and sunbleached Italian fuzzed out freakouts. And all the while the deep, honeyed siren call of Collin Hegna’s baritone vocals draws us through forests of strings and synthesizers; Eerily compelling us to see what might come next.
