Lorn/Linger
Lorn is about being lost. The piece consist of 2 contrasting parts, the first part uses self
composed music by Julien that portrays the feeling of not knowing, feeling lost and alone. It is the moment where the person has to decide whether to continue or end it. The second part of the music is “starry starry night” by Don Mclean performed by Massimo Broggio and Julien Keulen. The song is about Vincent Van Gogh taking his own life, which is the inspiration of the entire story.
Linger is about the after math of Lorn.
2 people are left behind, they are in a situation where they are grieving and are figuring out on how to continue their own life.

PAUS / INTERMISSION
ISLE
Inspired by and created to the symphonic poem by Sergei Rachmaninoff Isle of the Dead, the work ISLE is enriched with many symbols and raises questions about our relationship to the contrasts of life, love and death, light and darkness, desire for each other and loneliness. What is death and what shapes can it take? What is our relationship towards it?
Is life and death something that we carry inside us through our whole life? We are all our own isle in the waves of surrounding world.
