On the 15th of September Studentafton in collaboration with We Have A Dream has the honour of welcoming Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Shirin Ebadi. As a pioneering human rights lawyer and lifelong advocate for democracy, freedom and women’s rights in Iran, Shirin Ebadi has dedicated her life to standing up for justice and human dignity. During this Studentafton Shirin Ebadi together with Swedish foreign correspondent Stina Blomgren will examine Ebadi's courageous fight for freedom and human rights and the paths ahead for democracy in Iran. What has formed Ebadi's courage? What does it take to stand up against one the world's most brutal regimes? What are the paths ahead for freedom and democracy in Iran? Questions such as these will be answered when Shirin Ebadi enters the stage of Studentafton on the 15th of September. The evening consists of a one hour conversation between Shirin Ebadi and foreign correspondent in the Middle East Stina Blomgren followed by a Q&A session during which students can ask questions directly to Ebadi.
